Lithium-Ion Battery Storage
The frequent usage of lithium ion batteries in everyday life is becoming increasingly common. A lithium battery has vulnerabilities in terms of the ability to easily catch fire and can be often difficult to extinguish or control.
There have been some cases where homes or businesses in the UK have caught fire due to a lithium ion battery igniting into flames. The secure storage of lithium batteries is now paramount to any individual or business due to the health and safety risks that lithium batteries carry.
Construction Features
The battery commander has double walled construction and comes supplied with insulation that provides fire and heat resistance. It has 90 minutes fire protection and has been drop tested from 9.1 metres, this is to replicate the situation if the safe fell through the floor during a fire.
The cabinet has ventilation ducts included which are heat protected. The unit is then sealed if the unit catches fire from an internal battery or building fire. Additional ventilation can be added on, please contact us for further information.
Power Charging Points and Features
The battery commander has been designed for secure battery storage of lithium and rechargeable batteries. Included is a wired in power supply which allows you to charge lithium batteries or a battery pack when not in use.
Due to the severity and fire hazards that lithium batteries pose, ensuring that they are stored correctly is important. The Phoenix Battery Commander is supplied with heavy duty shelves which create more space and organisation for storing batteries, so they are not stacked on top of each other which could cause damage and issues to the battery packs.

Phoenix can also provide additional optional extras based upon your requirements in the storage facilities that you have. Such as a smoke detector, alarms, a controller, fire extinguisher along with external heat and alarm monitoring.
